Lee Tops Lindholme Lakes Qualifier

Lindholme Lakes provided another memorable Fish ‘O’ Mania qualifier with 112 anglers making their way to Doncaster. Weights this time surpassed all previous years with nearly 30 anglers breaching the 100lb barrier – a real feat with the fish in spawning mood.

Winner on the day and qualifying for the grand final was Lee Kerry (Drennan Barnsley Blacks) who drew Willows peg 2. Lee amassed 200lb 2oz made up of nearly all F1s which he took on maggot in the margins.

In runners up spot was Paul Burton from York who pushed Lee all the way on 180lb 0oz. Paul drew peg 3 on Loco and caught on caster shallow with a couple of lumps to bolster his weight.

Matthew Dawes from Broughton captured third spot with 172lb 10oz from peg 19 on Bennys. Matt’s catch consisted of mainly F1s caught shallow on pellet.

Fourth, fifth and sixth were separated by just 2oz with Ian Ridgway on 168lb 15oz (Bennys peg 42) Ryan Law 168lb 14oz (Bennys peg 12) and Paul Wright on 168lb 13oz.

Thanks to Neil Grantham who generously opened up the whole 130 pegs for the match.
