Giles takes spare ticket then books place in Fish'O' Final

Robert Giles became the fifth angler to qualifier for July’s Fish‘O’Mania XXIV grand final at Cudmore Fisheries after he took a spare ticket and won the Viaduct Fishery qualifier on Saturday.

Good weather ensured that fishing was to the highest level and Giles, of South Wales, landed first place in what was a hard fought match.

Robert drew peg 111 on Campbell, starting short and switching to long pole he took carp to 16lbs on both meat and pellet with a superb winning weight of 178lbs 13ozs.

Lee Farmer was very close in second place with 177lbs 11ozs. Lee took his fish shallow on pellet at 16m.

Craig Edmunds, a manager from Yate, also drew on Campbell and despite breaking his pole put 177lbs 04ozs on the scales for third place.

Result:
1. Robert Giles 178lbs 13ozs
2. Lee Farmer 177lbs 11ozs
3. Craig Edmunds 177lbs 04ozs
