Defending champs Hughes and England start favourites

With the big Betway Fish’O’Mania weekend set to get underway this Saturday at midday, event sponsors Betway have published their opening prices for the two matches. 2013 Fish’O’Mania champion Jamie Hughes not surprisingly starts out as a 5/1 pre-draw favourite to scoop the £30,000 top prize, while previous finalists Andy Power, Andrew Geldart and Kieron Rich are all quoted at 8/1.

England, who have dominated the Sunday match since its inception, are odds-on favourites to retain their title in the eight-team international pairs competition. Will Raison and Des Shipp are quoted at 4/5 by Betway, whilst Scotland are second favourite at 5/2.

Taking place at Cudmore Fisheries, outside of Stoke on Trent, the two Fish’O’Mania finals will be televised live by Sky Sports for 11 hours in total. There is also the Fish’O’Mania Ladies championship on the Saturday and Fish’O’Mania Juniors on Sunday.
